Fewer homes sold, at higher prices, and faster. Here is what that mix means in Mooresville, and the tax number most buyers from Marion or Hendricks County miss.
Start with the map. Filter by price, beds, and neighborhood.
Mooresville's numbers point in two directions. Closings fell about 12%, from 187 to 164, and months of supply rose from 1.9 to 2.5 in August. At the same time the median climbed 6.2% to $315,000, homes went under contract in a median of 17 days instead of 20, and sellers got 98.5% of list.
My read: fewer homes are changing hands, but the ones that are priced right are selling quicker and closer to asking than last year. The extra supply gives you a little room on the listings that have sat. It doesn't mean every seller is ready to deal.
Mooresville is a town, incorporated in 1838, with 9,411 people at the 2020 Census. It sits between White Lick Creek and its East Fork, and it calls itself the Home of the State Flag: local artist Paul Hadley's design won the 1916 contest and was adopted in 1917. Main Street is being rebuilt in phases this year under the town's Main in Motion project.
What you are actually buying: a small-town downtown with a historic commercial district, a 152-acre town park, and a short drive to the airport side of the metro. What you are giving up: an interstate, since SR 67 is the main road, and a higher county income tax than the counties next door.

Mooresville is framed by two creeks and cut through by SR 67. Where you land relative to the creeks and the highway matters more than the subdivision name.
The Mooresville Commercial Historic District has 35 buildings dating from 1872 to 1952. Main in Motion is rebuilding Main Street in phases during 2026; the town's own posts give different dates for each phase, so check current closures if you're touring. Bicentennial Park sits at the downtown gateway.
See homes →The main road and most of the retail. A Wawa is planned at 555 South Indiana Street, and Innovation Park 67 is an industrial park with a signalized SR 67 entrance. Convenient, and busy.
See homes →The town council approved a rezoning for a mixed-use development near Bridge Street and SR 67 in May 2026. I couldn't confirm its size. A separate 17-acre mixed-use project at Bridge Street and Hopkins Trail was tabled in February 2026 over parking.
See homes →Taylor Morrison is building Grand Oaks off North Grand Oaks Drive. I couldn't confirm current pricing from the builder, so check my Morgan County New Home Builds page or ask me.
See homes →Pioneer Park, 152 acres on Indianapolis Road along the East Fork of White Lick Creek, and Rooker Run Park on the same creek. Great parks. Two creek branches frame the town, so check the FEMA flood map for any parcel near either one.

I found no Mooresville school referendum on the November 2026 ballot, and none on the current tax bill. I couldn't read the state's full list, so confirm with the Morgan County election office before you rely on that.
Pioneer Park has an aquatic center, six ball diamonds, soccer fields, disc golf, seven shelters and a walking trail. Old Town Park dates to 1877, and North Park and Rooker Run round it out. The Old Settlers Fair is every August.
SR 67 runs northeast into Indianapolis, where it becomes Kentucky Avenue and meets I-465. SR 144 heads southeast to I-69 near Bargersville. Visit Morgan County puts the airport at under 10 miles. There's no interstate in town, so drive your actual route at your actual start time before you commit.
Indiana caps homestead property tax at 1% of gross assessed value under the circuit breaker, so most owner-occupants land at or near that figure before any voter-approved referendum rate, which sits outside the cap. Rentals and second homes are capped at 2% and should be modeled separately. Morgan County's local income tax is 2.72%, unchanged in the Indiana Department of Revenue's county rate notice effective October 1, 2026. That's well above Johnson County (1.4%) and Hendricks County (1.7%). Confirm assessments with the Morgan County Assessor.
If you want an interstate close by, look at Plainfield or Martinsville, which sits on I-69. If the county income tax matters to your budget, run the numbers against Plainfield in Hendricks County before you decide.
The median single-family sale was $315,000 year to date through August 2026, on 164 closings, up 6.2% from $296,500 over the same stretch of 2025.
Mixed. Months of supply rose from 1.9 to 2.5 in August, but homes went under contract faster, in a median of 17 days instead of 20, and sellers got 98.5% of list. Well-priced homes are still selling quickly.

I'm Wes Johnston, a Realtor with Trueblood Real Estate, based in Fishers. I cover the whole Indianapolis metro, and every guide on this site is built the same way: MIBOR numbers, public sources, and the trade-offs a listing description won't mention.
My job isn't to open doors. It's to tell you what a house is actually worth, what's wrong with it, and whether it's the right move for what you're trying to do — then negotiate hard on your behalf and own the process from contract to close.
If you're two years out, that's fine. Most of my best clients started with a question, not a showing.
Fishers-based. Honest numbers, every part of the metro. Committed to your success.
